If you want your dog to live a happy & fulfilled life, learn to understand how your dog thinks.
There is a big difference between training a dog and addressing a dogs behavior. If your dog has issues including aggression, dominance, fear, separation anxiety, acting out or others, it is important to address these issues before you begin training. Robert offers private / in-home sessions to analyze and correct any issue your dog may be struggling with. Many issues can be analyzed and a solution put into place in just a few sessions. A clear assessment will give you the groundwork to correcting the problems and this will lead to the start of a happy life together. Robert will give you detailed advice on dealing with the issues that trouble your dog and how to work toward the solution.
Robert’s experience in dealing with dogs with serious behavior issues includes dogs sentenced to death at animal shelters. His incredible success rate is a testament to his dedication and understanding of the canine psyche. As director of the animal rights organization Bound Angels, Robert has skillfully and compassionately transformed countless dogs and placed them into loving homes.
It is important to note that behavioral sessions are not training sessions. These sessions will teach you how to relate to your dog, identify the problems that plague him and start anew. These sessions are important when dealing with a new dog that is just coming into a home or one that has developed problems.
A common mistake people make is bringing home a new dog, and if all seems fine the first day, they assume everything “is” just fine. This could not be further from the truth. Dogs require structure in order to fit into your life. You are that structure.
Black Belt Dog Training does not believe in taking your dog to “camp” to learn. You will learn hands on how to train your dog yourself. Your dog should respond to you and see you as his leader, not another trainer. Teaching humans and dogs together forms a lifelong bond and instills confidence in the mind of your dog. There are no short cuts, training your dog is the most important thing you will ever do for him. Robert’s program is divided into two parts:
• The Behavioral Program approaches dogs with behavioral issues. These issues need to be addressed before training can begin. For people who just wish to fix a problem with their dog, and gain some understanding of their dogs behaviors this program is a perfect fit.
• The Training Program focusses on complete dog training and building a solid relationship between you and your dog. This program takes you and your dog through all aspects of training from beginning to advanced, on leash and off. It is a program that trains the dog and handler and helps to form a strong bond between them.
Every dog deserves a chance at a happy life. Through positive reinforcement and behavior modification even “problem dogs” can become loving companions and enjoy a happy life. Black Belt Dog Training forms a complete, natural & healthy bond between you and your dog. It opens the path for a lifelong understanding between dog & human and makes training fun, rewarding and understandable.
Unlike some human leaders, leaders in the canine world possess three characteristics, they are strong, they are aloof and they are always fair.
The primary goal of Robert’s training method is to teach you to understand how your dog thinks. Your dog sees you as his world, and in order to be fair to him, you should understand this role. Through simple exercises that are fun for both you and your dog, you will strengthen your bond. Though this bond, you will be better able to relate to your dog, solve issues and train him in a way that is simple, clear to him and fair.
Robert’s approach works with all dogs. Every dog is given a fair opportunity to learn in an environment that is conducive to growth. Robert is best known for his work with dominant and aggressive dogs. His skillful training and rehabilitation techniques have saved the lives of countless dogs living in municipal animal shelters.
